Isabela is a specialist in economic decarbonization, with a broad practice that spans from the energy sector to high-emission industries.

Her focus is on the new frontiers of renewable energy, such as next-generation biofuels (Renewable Diesel, SAF, Biomethane), sustainable technologies, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and hydrogen projects. In addition, Isabela has stood out in the development of the regulated and voluntary carbon markets in Brazil, contributing significantly to the establishment of the regulatory framework in the country. She is also a co-founder and the current Executive Director of the CCS Brasil Association, where she is dedicated to the promotion and implementation of carbon capture and storage projects.

Experience

Isabela has extensive experience in preparing strategic legal analyses focused on the implementation of energy transition and industrial decarbonization projects. Her practice encompasses regulatory compliance and risk management within the carbon markets, both voluntary and regulated. She provides legal support to enable carbon capture and geological storage projects, as well as low-emission fuels, standing out in initiatives related to Renewable Diesel, SAF, Biomethane, and Hydrogen.

Over the past 10 years, Isabela has played an active role in policy design and Brazilian regulation, with the aim of creating an environment conducive to accelerating the energy transition. Currently, a significant part of her practice is dedicated to strategic government relations, with a focus on strengthening decarbonization policies, especially in the context of the energy transition and the carbon market.
