He advises international clients on complex corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial transactions, and major arbitrations involving energy projects. His experience spans the entire energy value chain, including oil and gas, renewables, biofuels, and energy transition projects. Throughout his career, Marcelo has worked on transactions exceeding USD 8 billion and on disputes exceeding USD 1.7 billion. Experience

Marcelo primarily advises international clients with interests or operations in Brazil, including project developers, offtakers, construction and shipping companies, global suppliers, and investors. In the disputes area, he represents clients in significant cases involving the construction, chartering, and financing of floating platforms, offshore vessels, and global suppliers in the oil and gas sector.

He also works on innovative initiatives for energy production and decarbonization, encompassing biofuels (such as biogas, biomethane, renewable diesel, SAF, ethanol, and methane), low-emission hydrogen and ammonia, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and carbon market mechanisms. Marcelo works closely with his clients on the development and implementation of strategies to reduce carbon emissions, always with a focus on energy security, sustainability, and affordability.
